Project Six
This summer, Somos Arte Chicago has the pleasure of partnering with After School Matters and the Chicago Park District to create "Project Six," a 6-week program guiding High School aspiring teens from basics to a complete mural project! The program went on from July 5 until August 11, 2022.
For one of the projects, @ali_six_ hit up his friends at @nikechicago to get Air Force 1️⃣s for the kids to decorate. We’re so grateful we got to send these amazing teens off with such a special gift and experience 🎨👟
For the past few weeks the @veggiemijas Chicago chapter collaborated with us to bring a variety of plant-based meals to the youth.
They provided us with a variety of foods that the teens got to try from different Chicago plant-based restaurants/options such as @dimospizza @nativefoodscafe and @uptonsbreakroom.
We wanted to give a special shout out to @casayari who catered our program and curated a weekly menu for our youth. We got a lot of love for Casa Yari for creating dishes that remind us of our cultura y raices 💜
